Image Coming SoonGCAHS is  proud to be offering two premiere hardback books that spotlight various aspects of our local history. The Way We Were features agriculture, mining, business and industry, local entrepreneurs, entertainment, events and wars, families, schools and churches. Grandma Left the Light On focuses on architecture of the community. Both volumes were the result of fastidious research and interviewing on behalf of the Society’s Publication Committee. The volumes are beautifully designed and printed and include many local photos, as well as maps and graphics.

One of the missions of GCAHS is to preserve the past in order to enhance the present and the future. These two books serve our mission by preserving stories and images for future generations.

The Publications Committee is currently working on a third volume, The Light from the Barn which will honor our agricultural roots and the folks who planted them. The Society is also working towards being able to re-publish Wolf Creek Legacy I and II, a popular local history written by Lillian Reynolds Reeher.

Anyone willing to contribute stories or photos for The Light from the Barn is encouraged to contact the Society.
