The Cunningham Wheel
The Grove City Historical Society, Grove City College and the Grove City Borough have teamed together to create a display for the 300 pound Cunningham Wheel which was discovered in excellent condition in the summer of 2009.
This is a gear wheel made of white oak, measuring 60 inches across that was used in the Cunningham Mill 200 years ago. It was found by college students in Wolf Creek after the dams were removed causing the water levels to go down. More about the wheel and it's discovery can be found in the September 2009 Newsletter found HERE Chris Tyner of Neshannock Woods and Co. created the design for the display to be placed in Cunningham Mill Park on East Main Street. Included in the display will be a plaque made by Wendal August Forge noting those who have contributed to the creation of this display.
