Electronic Resources

Visitors may use the Society's computer for free. (Printing - 10 cents a page, non-members - 25 cents) Volunteers can assist you in getting started with some of the following resources:

Mercer County Cemetery Inscriptions - computer index of names for individuals in Mercer County cemeteries is the place to begin. Once you find the correct name, you will be directed to one of 16 volumes to learn more about the cemetery location, maps of burial plots, etc.

Ancestry.com - one of the world's best electronic resources for researching family history. The GCAHS has a subscription to Ancestry.com's United States records which provide access to census data; birth, marriage and death records; immigration and naturalization records; military records; public member family trees and much more.

Grove City Historical Society's Database of Archives - Also known as "Past Perfect". Ask a volunteer to assist you in searching this catalog, to learn more about what is contained in the building.

Family Histories

Local family histories are shelved in the front room of the GCAHS, alphabetically by family name. We welcome receiving copies of your own local histories and family trees.

Newspaper Clippings File

Newspaper articles from local papers of births, weddings, accomplishments, obituaries, etc. have been collected -some going back to the 1950s. These are available in filing cabinets, arranged alphabetically in folders by the individual's name.

Genealogy Forms

Large 12-generation charts are available for sale in the Museum Shoppe ($5.00), to help researchers plot ancestors.
